16 Hours in London

Image
The best part of the summer program I'm in at the University of Stirling is the long weekends that allow for travel. However, scheduling in travel while having to juggle coursework and course excursions is more difficult than I had expected. It's even harder to schedule travel with others who have their own coursework to handle. All of this led to me spending just 16 hours in London a couple of weeks ago. A group of friends and I took an overnight bus from Scotland on Friday night to arrive very early on Saturday morning, then to leave again late on Saturday night. Even though I didn't get much time in London, I definitely made the most of that time. In only 16 hours, I saw all of the things that I really wanted to see. I'd still love to go back, but I am extremely satisfied with my short day in London. xx Heidi

June 2016 Wrap Up!

Hello everyone! I'm back just a couple of days late to share all of the books that I read this June. I'm actually super proud of how much I read, since I'm currently going to school in Scotland, and all of my coursework has been a lot harder than I had anticipated. I only read three full books this month, but one of them was pretty long, so I'm feeling good about my reading. The Seven Laws of Love  by Dave Willis The Counselor  by A. W. Tozer Eragon  by Christopher Paolini I'm currently reading Dragonfly in Amber  by Diana Gabaldon, which is the sequel to Outlander . I'm not very far, but I'm going to read as much as I can before I go to Inverness, Scotland, on Friday. I've been told that I should finish the book before I go because there are things in Inverness that I'll appreciate if I've finished the book, but that seems unlikely, since I have less than a week to read 1000 pages, along with my schoolwork. I'll just have to ...

Fishing Adventure

Image
Hi there! The weather has been warming up in Wisconsin, and I am loving it! I really really really really hate winter and all things cold, so the summer-like weather is feeling like heaven. My friend recently asked me to go fishing with her over the weekend. I love fishing, though I don't get to do it much. I don't keep anything I catch (when I do actually catch something), but I love being out on the water enjoying the sunshine. (I also have a hot pink fishing pole so I really can't be taken seriously haha) Saturday was the warmest day of the year so far, so it was crazy nice to be outside. My friend and I tried out a few fishing spots before we actually caught anything. Each place we went was so beautiful that I had to take some pictures! This first spot was a pond on her land.  With no luck there, we moved on to a river. It took a bit of a hike to get here, but the view was worth it. Our final spot was on the same river but near a ...

Birthday Adventure

Image
Yesterday was my 19th birthday (yay!), so I decided to spend the day at one of my favorite places in the world...my cabin on a lake! It is so peaceful and beautiful there. Those ducks are just too cute! When I got home late last night, I opened my presents. I've been wanting to learn to crochet, so my sister got me an instruction book! I've been working on it, and I'm starting to get better! I also got some lipstick, the movie Die Hard (from back when Bruce Willis still had hair), and t-shirt with Olaf from Frozen on it! Here is my very first attempt at crochet. It's not exactly straight, but I'm getting there! Finally, here is the best part. Instead of cake, my mom makes me peanut butter pie, which is probably the yummiest thing ever!!! It's peanut butter, cool whip, and cream cheese mixed together in an Oreo crust and put in the freezer for four hours. Then, when it's hard, take it out and drizzle caramel and melted ...

Summer 2014 Playlist

I don't know why, but when I hear some songs, all I can think is "summer". Even if the lyrics have nothing to do with sunshine or beaches, they somehow make me think of summer. Each summer, whenever I hear these songs, I put them into a playlist. It builds all summer, but here's a glimpse at my summer 2014 playlist! Go All Night- Radiodriveby  [song] Here's To The Times- ByStarlight  [song] She Looks So Perfect- 5 Seconds of Summer  song Waiting For Superman- Daughtry [song]   The Warrior- Scandal  [song] Boomerang- The Summer Set  [song] I totally recommend checking these songs out!!!

Summer Day

Image
Hellooo! As you can see, my posts are pretty sporadic and don't follow any kind of schedule. I just post when I have time to write a nice post or when something fun happens! Today's post is of the latter variety. My day started off the best way a day can start....I got to sleep in. I also had the day off! Working three jobs, these things don't happen often. When I did finally drag my lazy self out of bed, I sat outside and read for a while, as it was really nice out and my book is really good! I'm currently reading In The Shadow of Blackbirds  by Cat Winters. In the afternoon, I went into town and did a bit of shopping. I got some yarn I need for a knitting project I'm starting soon, a t-shirt, a tank top, a pair of athletic shorts, and a sports headband (pictures soon to come). When I was in town, I found a gorgeous park by the water and a lending library. It is so adorable! I'm planning a trip back there soon to leave some books in it.    Then...

Hello! Oh my, it's been so long since I've posted! I'm really sorry about that, I've just been crazy busy with final exams and then working every day. Thank goodness it's FINALLY summer and I'll have all  kinds of free time! One thing you'll learn from my posts is that I'm a huge book worm. I'm actually planning on majoring in English and working at a publishing house as a book editor. In today's post, I'd like to share with you some of my favorite books.
