Life Update: March

Hey there! I have been a terrible blogger recently, and I'm sorry about that. I have just been soooo busy, so I thought I'd let you guys know what's been going on in my life. I started a new job! A couple of weeks ago I started working in a craft store called Hobby Lobby. I'm still pretty new, so it's a little scary still, but I really enjoy my job there so far. Also, it makes buying tons and tons of yarn more affordable :D I recently made a Facebook page which I talked about in my  last post . Basically, I post stuff I knit/crochet and people can ask me to make one for them. This past week, I've gotten four new orders- I'm making 3 ninja turtles and a Minnie Mouse. This is my first round of orders since I made the page, so that's pretty exciting! In the fall, I'm moving two hours away from home to a new city to start at a new university. This morning, I filled out my housing application. I've also been buying some things for my room the...

The End In Sight: Blogmas Day 12

That's right, it's almost time. It's almost winter break! Today was my last day of classes, and my final exams are next week. All that is left is a few projects I need to finish and some final studying. Break is so close! It's a bit hard to keep myself motivated this close to being done. Or maybe that's just me? All I want to do is lay in bed and knit and sleep and read and watch Doctor Who. My last final is next Wednesday, and then I'll be halfway through my second year at university! It's still kind of crazy to think about.  I'll be using this weekend to write out some good posts so I can simply go online and post them, and then maybe I should use the saved time for some studying. Good luck on your final exams! xx Heidi

Life Update: Blogmas Day 9

Hello everybody! I would like to apologize in advance for the lameness of this post, as it's just a boring ol' update. But I still do want to let everybody know what's been going on with me, and why I'm having such trouble keeping up on here. First, I have my final exams next week. This means studying for lots of tests, and getting projects done by Friday for those professors who don't want to have to come in next week. This means that I am incredibly busy, and I'm just really hoping that my blog (and my grades!) won't suffer for it. Last weekend, I visited my sister at her university and spent the whole weekend hanging out with her. Over the course of three days, we watched 5 Harry Potter films and 2 Harry Potter fan musicals. These pretty much just played in the background while we did homework. My sister and I are extremely close, so I was very sad when I had to leave. I literally cried the entire two hour drive home! On Friday night, I a...

This Is Getting Out Of Hand

Hello everyone! So today's post is a bit of a quick update. When I began this blog last April, it was just something I wanted to try. I had no idea what I was going to do with it, what I would talk about, if I would even enjoy it, or if anyone would read it. I am very happy to say that I love blogging and am so happy that I started it. On a whim, I decided to make a second blog about books. I would post reviews and recommendations, and offer editing for writers. Currently, this blog isn't live yet, as I'm trying to make it as nice as possible first. Two blogs, I decided, I can handle. The day after I began working on my second blog, my sister's boyfriend (who makes websites for a living) asked me if he could make a blog for me, mostly so he could gain some experience using different blogging websites. I said yes, as it's quite hard to turn down a free, professionally made blog. However, now I have the dilemma of having THREE BLOGS that I have no...

Family Weekend

Image
Hi everyone! This past weekend, I went to visit my sister, who recently moved away to go to college. It was Family Weekend, so there were all sorts of activities planned. First, we went to a bonfire. It was at this little cottage with a beautiful view. The next day, we went for a walk on one of the nature trails that surrounded the campus. The path that we took led us to this gorgeous beach, as well as some great sights in the woods. We decided to eat on campus that night. Inside one of the buildings, I saw these chalk drawings. They're so well done! Art students draw different things here almost daily. On the last day, we walked more on the beautiful trails. We even found some snakes! I had such a great weekend. I miss my sister like crazy, so I was happy to get to spend some time with her.  xx Heidi

Life Update

Hello there! I have been such a bad blogger recently, I'm so sorry! Today's post will be short, but I just wanted to give an update on what's been going on recently. I began my second year of university at the beginning of the month. I am majoring in English, so that means I spend almost all of my time writing a whole lot of essays and reading. I am also the editor-in-chief of my school's literary magazine, which I am beyond excited about since I would like to become a book editor after I finish university. I quit the job I've had for the past two years. I worked in a department store, and I honestly loved my job and was very sad to have to leave it. However, I was getting too many hours and was unable to keep up with my homework. Though it was a hard decision, I had to do what was best for me. I started a new job. I am now a writing tutor at my university. At this job, I only work about 10 hours a week, and I can work on homework when no one needs help, so ...
