Hey there! Welcome to my blog!

My name is Heidi, I'm 18, and I live in the states (Wisconsin, woo!). We'll get to know each other a lot better as I post more.

This blog is just to show a day in my life! Not that it's all that exciting, but it's pretty beautiful if you pay attention! 

I've been wanting to make a blog for a while now, but have just never gotten around to it. Well, here we go!

With finals coming up for most of you, I thought it would a good idea to share some writing tips. I am an English major and currently work at my university as a writing tutor, so I have to handle A LOT of essays. In addition to academic writing, I think that these tips can apply to blog posts, too. Writing Tips I feel like such a hypocrite for saying this, because I almost NEVER do this, but start your papers early. This is especially important if your writing requires research, as you need time to find useful and reliable sources. Also, this gives you plenty of time to write if you get stuck or need to take breaks.  Have someone else (a friend, a teacher, a tutor) look over your writing. Quite often, there are mistakes and typos that you can't see because you know what it is supposed to say. "Discipling as Jesus Discipled" by Dann Spader: Review

"Discipling as Jesus Discipled" is a workbook by Dann Spader and published by Moody Publishers. It aims to make disciples who will go out and make disciples who will, in turn, make more disciples. Spader uses this workbook to teach Christians how to create disciples who make disciples. The focus is all about relationships, with each other and with non-Christians (or future disciples). When Jesus made disciples, he loved them and cared for them, he maintained relationships. This is how we should be discipling, too.  This is a workbook designed for a 10-12 week small group study. Unfortunately, since I received this for review, I just worked through it quickly on my own. I think that it would be much more beneficial to go through this workbook in a group study and be able to have discussions about the content. Pierced and Embraced by Kelli Worrall | Review

"Heartrending truth all wrapped up in mind-blowing grace. A piercing embrace. That is our Jesus." Pierced and Embraced  by Kelli Worrall is all about the piercing love of Christ. It is a love that is sometimes painful, with "grace filled jabs"that show us the truth. With this book, Kelli Worrall shows us the love of the Lord in His wonderful combination of truth and grace. He pierces our heart and soul while bringing us into an embrace.  She uses examples of how Jesus interacted with women in the Bible. Through these stories, we see Jesus interact with women, show them a truth in their life that is painful to them, and embraces them with love and grace. Then, we see how this is reflected in our own lives.  What I loved the most is how much Kelli Worrall really delved into the details of each story, which made it make much more sense for me, and made it so much more impactful.  Both the author and I would recommend reading this with a journal nea...
