Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween!!! I don't know why, but I think I've been more excited for Halloween this year than I have been any other year. Halloween is just so great: getting scared at corn mazes or haunted houses, watching scary movies, and of course all the candy (I swear I'm a child inside)!

Unfortunately where I live, it's always really cold on Halloween. It actually snowed last night, so it doesn't even look like autumn anymore. There is a layer of snow and ice over everything!

Tonight I'm going to a haunted house, and then probably watching some scary movies, because what else are you supposed to do on Halloween!

Halloween Tag

1. What is your favorite Halloween movie? I watched The Nightmare Before Christmas for the first time this year and I loved it! If I had to choose a scary one though, it would be the original Halloween. This was the first scary movie I ever watched so it still really gets me scared!

2. If you were in a horror movie, how far would you get? I think I'd be smart enough to evade getting killed for a while. I'm not the sort of person who'd just stand there screaming and crying, I'd be trying my hardest to get out of there. Unfortunately though, if I was being chased, I wouldn't last long at all. I can't run very well due to some joint/bone problems so I'd be down pretty quick.

3. What is your favorite memory of Halloween? My favorite Halloween memories are all from going trick or treating when I was a kid.

4. Your best/worst Halloween costume? My best Halloween costume was probably when I was an old lady. I wore really comfortable pajamas and a robe, and I put some skin cream on my face. I was warm and comfortable for the whole night and my skin felt amazing the next morning! My worst Halloween costume was when I decided to be a hula dancer. My costume was a tank top and a grass skirt, but since I live in Wisconsin they were covered up by a huge coat and sweat pants so I wouldn't freeze. No one could even see my costume!

5. How do you get into the Halloween spirit? I listen to a lot of Halloween playlists on Pandora and 8 Tracks, as well as watching scary movies. I also bought a pack of Halloween pencils that I've been using all week.

6. Favorite Halloween decoration? My cat! I have a black cat named Ashley and I think that totally counts as a decoration! :) However I do love seeing carved pumpkins all over town.

7. Name one unusual thing that you're afraid of. Chainsaws at corn mazes. I'm not even fazed by the people who jump out with knives or scary masks, but as soon as the chainsaw comes out I'm a mess and running as fast as I can. I think it's because usually at these places, all of the other "weapons" are so obviously fake, but the chainsaw is so real. I always think that it would be so easy for someone to sneak in with his chainsaw and actually start killing people-I have no idea why!

8. Vampires or zombies? I think zombies are so much scarier because they're what's left of humans. Also, I love the movie Zombieland!

9. Werewolves or ghosts? Ghosts!!! I love a good ghost story.

10. Creepy dolls or creepy clowns? Creepy dolls, I think they're scarier than clowns!

11. Do you believe in ghosts? I honestly don't know, though I think I lean more towards yes.

I'm tagging EVERYONE who reads this to do this tag!
Let me know if you do the tag as I'd love to read it.
I hope you enjoyed this post! I'll get away from the tags and do some more regular posts soon.
Have fun and stay safe tonight!

Family Weekend

Hi everyone!

This past weekend, I went to visit my sister, who recently moved away to go to college. It was Family Weekend, so there were all sorts of activities planned.

First, we went to a bonfire. It was at this little cottage with a beautiful view.

The next day, we went for a walk on one of the nature trails that surrounded the campus. The path that we took led us to this gorgeous beach, as well as some great sights in the woods.

We decided to eat on campus that night. Inside one of the buildings, I saw these chalk drawings. They're so well done! Art students draw different things here almost daily.

On the last day, we walked more on the beautiful trails.

We even found some snakes!

I had such a great weekend. I miss my sister like crazy, so I was happy to get to spend some time with her.

Autumn Tag

Hello again!

I realize that this is my 2nd autumn post this month, but I saw this tag after I had already published my first post. I still really wanted to do the tag, so here we go!

The Autumn Tag

1. Favorite candle scent? I love the pumpkin scented candle from Yankee Candles!

2. Coffee, tea, or hot chocolate? In a coffee shop, I prefer flavored coffee. A coffee shop where I live has a S'mores flavored coffee each fall which I absolutely love! At home, I prefer hot chocolate.

3. What's the best autumn memory you have? Hmm, that's a tough one. I don't have one specific memory. I live in the countryside, so I remember taking a lot of walks with my mom and sister when I was younger. I can remember how beautiful the leaves looked, the smell of autumn, and how much fun I always had on those walks.

4. Which makeup trend do you prefer: dark lips or winged eyeliner? I'm going to have to go with dark lips because I am absolutely terrible at doing winged eyeliner.

5. Best fragrance for autumn? I haven't changed the fragrance I use for the season. I'm currently using Play It Spicy by Playboy.

6. Favorite Thanksgiving food? Stuffing!!!

7. What is autumn weather like where you live? I live in Wisconsin, so it is getting a lot cooler. I've put away all of my shorts and brought out my sweaters. It is very chilly and windy. So far this season, it has also been very rainy.

8. Most worn sweater? I don't have a particular sweater that I wear more than others. I try to switch things up and not wear the same thing too often.

9. Must have nail polish this autumn? I really need to re-paint my nails. I haven't done it in a while so they're pretty chipped. When I finally get around to painting them, I'm planning on using a darker color, such as gold or a deep red.

10. Football games or jumping in leaf piles? Leaf piles!!! I've actually never watched a professional football game.

11. Skinny jeans or leggings? I wear skinny jeans more, but I just bought some new black leggings that I'm planning on wearing with an oversize sweater soon.

12. Combat boots or Uggs? I wear Ugg-like boots almost every day, in different colors. My boots are all Bearpaw brand.

13. Is pumpkin spice latte worth the hype? I actually have never tried it so I don't know!

14. Favorite autumn tv show? I don't know if this counts as an autumn show, but I've just started watching Supernatural on Netflix and I'm absolutely addicted now!

15. What song really gets you into the autumn spirit? Autumn makes me think of Halloween, so I listen to a lot of Halloween playlists on Pandora and 8 Tracks. Every playlist has "This Is Halloween" from The Nightmare Before Christmas, and I love that song! It's so fun!

I hope you enjoyed this post! Please feel free to do this tag if you'd like.

I'm nominating Kenzie and Clara to do this post next.

Let me know if you do this tag, as I'd love to read it!

What things do we agree/disagree on?

Rainy Days

Good morning, everyone!

I woke up this morning to a dreary, rainy day. Wisconsin has been getting a whole lot of these lately (I think the weather knows how badly I want to go to England and is preparing me). While sunny days are so nice and you can actually go outside without getting soaked, rainy days are sometimes the best kinds of days.

There are some great things about rainy days, such as...

  • playing in puddles
  • sitting under a soft blanket with a warm mug of hot chocolate and a good book
  • thunderstorms at night
  • getting to wear my cute pink polka dot rain boots
  • getting to wear my matching pink coat
  • using cute umbrellas
  • wearing warm sweaters
I really love the rain!

What are your favorite things about rainy days?
